A cookie is a small file a website saves in your browser. Essential cookies don't need your consent, because the website can't work safely without them. Any other cookie only gets set if you say yes.
Essential cookies
| Cookie | What it's for | How long |
|---|---|---|
| 2rent-session | Remembers your visit while you fill in a form, and keeps 2Rent staff signed in. | 2 hours |
| XSRF-TOKEN | Security: makes sure forms are really sent from this website. | 2 hours |
| remember_web_… | Only for 2Rent staff who tick "Keep me signed in". | About 13 months, or until they sign out |
| __cf_bm, cf_clearance | May be set by Cloudflare, which protects the website, to tell people from bots. | 30 minutes to 1 year |
| 2rent-cookie-choice (browser storage) | Remembers whether you accepted or declined analytics cookies. | Until you clear it |
Analytics cookies (only with your consent)
If you accept, Google Analytics sets cookies named _ga and _ga_* (up to 2 years) to count visits and see which pages are used, so we can improve the website. Google may process this information outside South Africa. If you decline, they're never set.
Other websites
The map on our contact page only loads from Google Maps when you click to show it, and WhatsApp buttons only open WhatsApp when you tap them. Those services then use their own cookies under their own policies.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though the forms on this website won't work without the essential ones. See our privacy notice for everything else.
